Introducing him and her

HazBeanz

So who might be our target audience?
Those with an American RV in Europe or thinking of doing something like we are doing, or something as mad. Motorhome people, those retired and looking forward to the day when their voluntary slavery ends and want ideas on what to do with it. Those who know us and are able to read between the lines and picture the trouble he (Steve) is in. Usually a lot. Hopefully those who want to learn from our victories and mistakes on our journey and perhaps enjoy the telling of the tale. We are not funded in anyway, so any items mentioned are not sponsored. If this changes at any point, I will be sure to highlight that it is a sponsored item or gifted to be reviewed. As yet the count is nil.

His introduction
At last retirement comes and the plans can be put in action, assuming you got lucky and have your health and sufficient wealth. This blog follows Jennifer and Steve through planning and then living their retirement plan. It will address thoughts emotions, costs, experiences and so much more, which will eventually include those little things that helped us along the journey, or hindered. This blog will be written in a his and hers format. So what are we and who are we?

Him (Steve)

Him
60 in 2019, reasonably fit 184cm tall and 88.5 KG. Ex RAF Avionics tech, flight simulation engineer, engineering manager and programme manager. You name it I have tried driving it (I know I will be made to regret that, but I have driven a lot of vehicle types, but accept not everything, though not for the want of trying). A good sense of humour, a little bit wicked at times, also a character flaw of being impatient and moody. I am dad and grandad. I speak some Arabic, Spanish and a smattering of French, I do excellent arm waving and pantomime conversations when required (self assessment).
I was ready to sell up the house and buy in Spain, the boss wanted more travel before she became too old and decrepit (I am going to die a painful death for that comment). we will start with what this entailed and see where it leads us. Welcome readers.

Her introduction
We all dream of 'seeing the world', and some of us get a chance to do that. So going 'on the road' was our way of seeing a bit of the world and meeting new people and new challenges. My side of the blog covers the challenges, the enjoyment, the experiences and the places were visited and where we stayed. I hope it will encourage other people thinking of traveling to 'go for it' and not look back and wish they had done it.

Her (Jennifer)

Her
OK so I am a Mum and a Granny and enjoy family life with the juggling of jobs and travel that it involved. Moving away for good was a difficult option and I wanted more travel before I got too old to enjoy it. We are not sure how this will work out and if we will carry on doing it for the suggested 3 years-only time can tell. So every day is a choice on where we go and what we do -I  am looking forward to the future-wherever that will take us !
